Government nod for increasing 5,000 additional seats in Jawahar Navoday Vidyalayas

To increase the 5000 additional seats in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Union's HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar, the government has given permission to raise 5,000 seats in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas of the country on Monday. In the last four years, 9,000 seats in residential schools are talented. Rural children are allowed to add 5,000 more seats to the Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD), the number of seats in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) has increased from 46,600 to 51,000, and additional seats will be started in 2019-20. This is a step in the right direction. This is the largest expansion of quality education for rural students. This unprecedented expansion of JNV, almost free residential schools, will provide the talented children of rural areas more opportunity to get quality education, "said Javdekar, who said that the Navodaya schools are the only institution in the country where students give entrance examination for admission in standard 6. In 2001, 5.50 Lakh candidates appeared for admission test for class 6. Number of candidates present for the examination for years Has increased significantly, for the 2019 Entrance Examination, 31.10 lakh students have registered for Entrance Examination.

This reflects the growing aspirations of rural children for acquiring quality education and the Government's consistent effort to meet this aspiration, under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the HRD minister said. The government is also actively considering setting up of Navodaya Vidyalayas in each of the newly-created districts.
